Background Information:

Subsequent to the adoption of the General Purpose School Fund Budget for the 2011 – 2012 fiscal year, we were notified of an additional award of federal funds to be utilized through the Adult Education Program. These funds are for the purpose of providing additional salaries, benefits, and instructional supplies for adult education services to be provided for Rapid Response – Dislocated Workers, which will supplement services to the adult population of Obion County. The General Purpose School Fund Budget must be amended to include these funds since the expenditures will be accounted for through the General Purpose School Fund. A resolution is attached for the Board’s consideration.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the amendment to the 2011 – 2012 fiscal year budget for the General Purpose School Fund.
